David Young Chairman &
Rights and Practices
David has lived in the Bedfordshire community all his life, mainly
in the village of Westoning where his family had a farm. After
going to agricultural college in Moulton, Northamptonshire, he
worked in the meat industry for a short time, at a Kosher abattoir.
Since then he has worked in the motor industry in Luton where
he is a safety rep and long-standing shop steward.
Besides being Chairman of the Shul Council, David is the communities
BA-AL TEFILLAH or Prayer Leader. He has been taking services at
Rodef Shalom for about fifteen years. David is responsible for
preparing our young people for their BNEI MITZVAH and also teaches
our adult education and proselyte classes.

Hans Seelig
Vice Chairman
Hans was born in Mannheim, Germany, in 1930. He
came to England via Sweden on the Kindertransport but was reunited
with his parents before the war, when they too came to England.
Hans is a retired University Lecturer and is chairman
of Club 1943, a cultural association founded in 1943 by refugees
from Nazi Germany with a programme of weekly lectures. Hans has
been a member of the Synagogue since 1968 and a council member
since 1982. He is currently Vice-Chairman and Social Secretary.

Gerald Fox Our representative on
the Board of Deputies
Gerald, a clinical Psychologist and Pharmacist (now
retired), is a father of four, has been a Board of Deputies Representative
for Rodef Shalom for the last twelve years. Coming from Federation
roots in Stoke Newington, London, he has been a member here for
twenty five years.

Hilary Fox
Secretary & Membership
Hilary from South Bedfordshire, has been married
to Gerald (above) for thirty one years, and has been on the Synagogue
Council for the last nine years. She is also the Secretary of
the Chiltern District Riding for Disabled Group.

Jeff Kleinman
Outlook Editor
Jeff Kleinman is the editor of our Synagogue
newsletter 'Outlook'. Jeff joined Rodef Shalom in 1980 and became
newsletter editor in August 1996.
Jeff grew up in Southgate, North London, before
moving to Luton in 1987. Jeff's hobbies include writing, cycling
and synagogue social activities.

Rosie Comb
Social Secretary
Rosie joined the Synagogue in 2000 and has been
on the council for the last two years, and currently co-ordinates
social events for the community.
Rosie is studying to be a Chartered Tax Advisor,
and when she is not at work or studying spends her spare time
dancing, running, or playing netball.
